Grunge, glamour and gutsy fashion choices… these are the things the fashion industry loves so dearly about the timeless icon Kate Moss. However, as Petta Chua of Vogue Australia talked through the brand new pieces designed by Moss for Topshop a sense of that gritty “Kate” feel was not consistent throughout the capsule collection. The strong moods coming across from the pieces were more basically bohemian with a touch here and there of 90’s influences; each item is sure to be commercially successful but a little dampening on the spirits of the fashion set.
There were definitely many fabulous aspects of the Vogue Australia x Topshop launch party, including a few standout pieces from the collection that will surely be on high rotation in any fashion lover’s wardrobe this season.
The crème de la crème of the capsule collection included the beaded fringe tiered dress that fashion assistant of Vogue Australia, Petta Chua, recommended to be worn during the day paired with a denim jacket such as the MOTO bleach borg denim jacket. Chua describes this look as “like Kate when she struts around in sequins during the day, I mean it’s SO wrong! But I just love it”.
The other winning piece of the 2014 Kate Moss Collection is the satin playsuit!
Already a favourite of fashionistas such as Cara Delevingne, this cute number can easily take you from the office to a cocktail bar with minimum effort. Love!
