The Best Dressed

The MET Gala 2015 theme, ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ was faced, as the MET Gala always is, with celebrities who missed the memo completely, those who played it too safe, and those who take ‘fancy dress’ a little too serious.
It must be said, at this point, for anyone who may not know, that the purpose of the red carpet gala is to somewhat exhibit creative styles for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. So while most of social media was up in arms about their favourite obsessions ‘slaying’ the red carpet, for the first time in my short blogging life ever, from a personal creative (and relativel conservative) perspective, Rihanna in a ‘haute couture’ egg yolk rug got more style points than naked Beyonce in fancy jewellery cloth.
There is a limit to how glamorous the ‘sheer’ look can go, and by the looks of JLo, I’m certain there’s a special technique to it.
It’s quite clear many weren’t keen on going for the actual theme, and most that attempted to just looked stale. So while everyone’s in the act of listing their favourites, here’s who made my ‘Best Dressed’ list from the MET Gala 2015:
