When it comes to headaches, painkillers can only do so much to get rid of the agony you are feeling.
Headaches can happen due to a number of reasons: tension, stress, nausea, restlessness, dehydration and even lack of sleep. Sometimes, headaches unattended to can turn into migraines which can result in a bad day turning into a bad week if the pain continues. Fortunately, there are a handful of remedies one can use to cure headaches instantly.

  1. Lavender Oil

Lavender oil smells quite wonderful anyway, but imagine using it to relieve yourself of a terrible headache.   • ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 3 cups of boiling water
  • 1 cup of fresh cool water

The method is quite simple. All you need to do is pour ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar in a large bowl and then fill the bowl halfway with boiling water. Then place a towel over your head so that it drapes over the bowl, trapping the steam and holding your face over it. Try not to get too close to the bowl so that you don’t burn your face. Continue this for about 5-10 minutes or when the water begins to cool down. Make sure that you are breathing properly during this time. Once done, wipe your face with the towel and drink a cool glass of water to calm yourself. Hopefully, by then the headache will have disappeared altogether.

  • You can also boil raw ginger powder or raw ginger root in water and inhale the vapour.
  • Chewing on 1 or 2 pieces of ginger also helps get rid of the headache.
