As much as I enjoy stalking American celebrities, Coachella is one event that never seems to escape my social media feeds, without any effort on my part.
For those that don’t know what Coachella is, on paper, it’s a 2-weekend annual three-day music and art festival held in California. In reality, it looks more like a boho and indie fashion show for C-list celebrities with the odd A-Bs that occasionally feature.
So, as a fashion and style blog, we’ve decided to keep a close eye on the desert styles…
Festival gear for women can be pretty simple if you follow the basic memo: short shorts, a crop top, overlapping jewellery and some tassels. Lots of tassels. But we were more concerned with interesting looks – people who may or may not have received the memo, but stayed true to looking unique.
Solange and Vanessa Hudgens stole the show for different reasons.
Solange, one of my personal favourite fashion icons, stayed classy and cute in matching sets – alternating from crop tops to rompers, and from block colours to prints.
Miss Vanessa Hudgens on the other hand, may as well have invented boho. She personalises the indie look and her carefree style (and perhaps attitude) worked perfectly!
Other eye-catching ensembles featured Rita Ora in a Roberto Cavalli black lace dress, Kendall Jenner who looked like a lost cast member of That 70s Show in those geometric print flared trousers, Selena Gomez and a simple but rather elegant laced floor-length white dress, Lana Del Ray in a cute floral red dress, Diana Agron and Jourdan Dunn in a memorable 2-piece, and the Hilton sisters who kept it cute and classy in exotic prints.
Who did you think was best dressed for Coachella 2014?
