During Fashion Week, Alberta Ferretti took us into the wilderness with her very earthy collection. She portrayed an animated forest through her designs and this really reminds us of our favourite Disney fairytales.
However, not everything is so innocent. Wild was the Alexander McQueen collection, a sinister fairytale. With lots of lace, floor-sweeping gowns, high collars and full sleeves, it was indeed quite gothic.
Dolce & Gabbana’s collection was enchanted. The light chiffon dresses and the huge fur hoods were an interesting combination. From woodland creatures to knights, it seemed as though we had been transported to the medieval times. But the brand stayed true to themselves by encrusting some of the gloves and shoes.
Some parts of the Valentino collection were very romantic and magical. Embroidered organza, breathtaking floral prints and butterfly wings were present.
Autumn/Winter 2014-15 will indeed be quite an ethereal season in terms of fashion.
